In 1999, Jim Moran passed away unexpectedly at age 57

James H. Moran was born in Spokane, Washington and played college football at the University of Idaho. While at the U of I, he married his wife Eleanor, and together they began raising their brood of five children. After retiring from a successful career with the NFL's New York Giants, Jim joined American Sign & Indicator Corporation, headquartered in his boyhood home of Spokane. As Vice President of the newly formed Sports Systems Division, Jim drove the explosive sells of scoring equipment, and led AS&I's cutting edge development of highly innovative spectator information display technology, such as four-color lampbank message centers (RFK Stadium) and the first ever Large Screen Video Display (Pontiac Silverdome). It was also during this time at AS&I that Jim directed the emergence of Corporate Sponsorships as the primary funding source for new equipment installation for both professional and collegiate facilities.

When AS&I was sold by the retiring Williams brothers, Jim joined White Way Sign Company of Chicago, working out of his Dublin (San Francisco Bay area), California office. During this time, in 1986, he launched Professional Sports Marketing, leveraging the installation of White Way scoring equipment at Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin, by securing all the Corporate Sponsorships in the facility for the Packers. Since then, PSMI has contracted millions of dollars worth of Sponsorships for professional, collegiate, and high school facilities.

At the time Jim was working on the Lambeau Field project, his son, Rich Moran, was playing for the Green Bay Packers (#57, Offensive Left Guard). Jim had also negotiated Rich's four NFL contracts during his nine year career with the Packers. When Rich retired from pro football, he had already been exposed to both the inner workings of professional sports contract negotiations and big time Corporate Sponsorships. It was natural for Rich to join his father at Professional Sports Marketing, working from his Encinitas (San Diego area), California office.

PSMI has always been 'small by design', so as to provide individual and intimate service while continuing to provide both contract negotiation services to its NFL player clients and sports marketing capabilities to its high profile properties.

PSMI is a closely held S Corporation that is in good standing with the State of California. If you have any further questions about PSMI and its services, contact Rich at 760-944-4298.
